TCA cross in North Strathfield
TCA cross is a precise scar-revision technique: a high-strength trichloroacetic acid solution is applied point by point into the base of ice-pick and atrophic acne scars, encouraging the scar to remodel from the bottom up. At Derma Regen Clinic it is nurse-led, planned scar by scar, and always starts with a complimentary consultation.
Why point-by-point matters
Ice-pick scars are deep and narrow, which is why surface treatments often disappoint. TCA cross works differently: the solution is placed only into the scar itself, sparing the surrounding skin, so each scar gets treated at its base.
- Each scar is mapped and treated individually; the session takes about 90 minutes.
- Usually planned as a series, with each round building on the last.
- Often sequenced with subcision or PRP in a wider scar-revision plan, decided at consultation.
Pricing
TCA cross is $350 per session, about 90 minutes. The number of rounds your scars are likely to need is estimated honestly at your complimentary consultation, and prices are as published on our live booking page.
Comfort, downtime and aftercare
The treated points sting briefly, then frost white and settle into small scabs that take roughly a week to lift; most people find the process very tolerable. Sun protection during healing matters and is non-negotiable in the aftercare, which you get in writing. As with any clinical procedure there are risks and recovery considerations, including temporary darkening at treated points, all explained plainly at your consultation. Scar remodelling is gradual and results vary from person to person.
Will my scars disappear completely?
No responsible clinic promises that. TCA cross can meaningfully soften the look of ice-pick scarring over a series, and your nurse will show you what is realistic for your scars at consultation. Results vary.
How many sessions are usual?
Commonly a series spaced several weeks apart, because remodelling happens between sessions. Your plan is mapped at the complimentary consultation.
What does recovery look like?
Small scabs at each treated point for around a week, then fresh skin that needs diligent sun protection. Aftercare is written down and easy to follow.
