Subcision with PRP in North Strathfield
Rolling acne scars sit low because bands of scar tissue tether them down. Subcision releases those bands with a fine needle worked beneath the scar, and at Derma Regen Clinic the session finishes with PRP, your own platelet-rich plasma, injected to support the skin's repair where the scar sat. Consult-first, always.
Release, then regenerate
Subcision deals with the mechanical cause of a rolling scar: the tether. Once the band is released, the skin can sit level again, and the PRP that follows is there to support the repair process in the freed space.
- The pairing matters: release alone risks the tether reforming; PRP is used to support healthier healing in its place.
- Sessions take about 90 minutes and treat the mapped scars methodically.
- Often sequenced with TCA cross when different scar types coexist, which is common; the combination is planned at consultation.
Pricing
Subcision with PRP is $500 per session, about 90 minutes. Whether one session or a series is realistic for your scars is assessed at your complimentary consultation, and prices are as published on our live booking page.
Comfort, downtime and aftercare
Numbing keeps the session very manageable for most people. Bruising and swelling in the treated areas are expected and can take up to a week or so to settle; that is a normal part of subcision, not a complication, and it is explained honestly before you book. As with any clinical procedure there are risks and recovery considerations, covered plainly at your consultation along with written aftercare. Improvement builds as the skin remodels, and results vary from person to person.
Which scars does subcision suit?
Primarily rolling, tethered scars that flatten when the skin is stretched. Ice-pick scars usually respond better to TCA cross, and many people have both, which is why assessment comes first.
Why add PRP at all?
Because the goal after release is healthy repair in the freed space, and PRP, prepared from your own blood, is used to support exactly that. The reasoning is explained properly at consultation.
