PRP and PRF both use your own blood - the difference is timing
Two of the regenerative treatments at Derma Regen Clinic start in exactly the same way - a single small blood draw, prepared on the day in front of you. Yet PRP skin rejuvenation and PRF skin rejuvenation are not interchangeable, and the difference is worth understanding before you choose.
The same starting point
Both draw on your own blood, prepared on the day and reintroduced to your skin alongside microneedling. Nothing is borrowed from anyone else, and the plasma is prepared in front of you rather than somewhere out of sight.
Where they actually differ
The real distinction is timing. PRP releases its growth factors quickly. PRF is prepared without additives, so it keeps a natural fibrin scaffold - a fine mesh that holds those growth factors and releases them slowly over the days after your session.
That slower, more sustained release is why some people lean towards PRF, particularly around the under-eye area and for skin that needs a little more support. Neither is better in the abstract; they simply behave differently.
Which suits early ageing and thinning skin
There is no single right answer here. The better fit depends on your skin, the areas you want addressed and where you are starting from. Skin works in slow cycles, so change builds gradually over a course and varies from person to person - anyone promising a fixed outcome is worth a second thought.
If your skin has started to look thinner or a little tired and you are weighing up your options, the clearest next step is a proper look in person rather than guessing from an article. That is exactly what a consultation is for: an honest read of your skin texture and dullness before anything is planned.
