Open pores don't shrink - but here's what changes how they look
Pores have no tiny muscle that opens and shuts, so nothing closes them for good - which is why products promising exactly that keep letting people down. What can genuinely change is how visible a pore looks, and that comes down to the skin around it, not the pore itself.
Why a pore looks larger
An opening reads as wider for two reasons: the skin around it has lost a little firmness, so the edge sits less taut, or it is holding surface build-up that catches the light and casts a shadow. Both are texture and skin-quality questions, not pore-size ones. Firmness and build-up are things a plan can work on; a pore that never had a muscle was never going to be shrunk shut.
What the consultation checks
Because those two drivers are handled differently, the complimentary consultation reads your skin for exactly that: whether it is build-up a surface treatment can clear, firmness that needs regenerative support from within, or a mix. Skin needling is one option that may earn a place where firmness is the driver, prompting your skin's own repair over a planned course - one path among several, with PRP skin rejuvenation another. Results build gradually and vary from person to person.
What it will not do
No plan here will make a pore vanish, and you should be wary of anyone who says it can. This is also a different job from scar work: if acne scarring sits alongside the texture, those pitted marks are mapped and treated on their own terms. Pores and scars are not the same story, even on the same face.
The honest next step is a proper look at your skin in person, so the plan fits what your pores and texture are actually doing - not what a product label promised.
